Federal Pell Grant
This grant program is designed to assist needy students who desire to continue their education
beyond high school. Every student is entitled to apply for a Federal Pell Grant. Eligibility is determined by the student's need, the cost of attendance, and the amount of money appropriated by Congress to fund the program. The amount of the grant is determined by a standard formula used by the U.S. Department of Education. The Pell grant is then disbursed in installments over the academic year to meet student costs for each payment period. Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. Pell grants must be
reapplied for each year. When new FAFSA applications are published, students are advised to apply well in advance to assure timely processing for the next award year.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG).
Students who demonstrate exceptional financial need, as determined by the school, may be eligible
for Federal SEOG funds. Pell Grant recipients are given priority for these awards. The grants range from $100 to $4,000 per year. All applicants are reviewed for FSEOG eligibility. Funds provided by the government for this program are limited.
Federal Work-Study (FWS)
The Federal Work-Study program allows students with financial need to earn money to help pay for
their educational expenses by providing jobs for those students. FWS awards are determined by the Financial Aid Office. Interested students may contact the Financial Aid Director for more information.
